Well....summer has almost come and gone. Sad to say....it's been MUCH colder this year. Don't get me wrong....we've been at the pool almost every day, but instead of a nice golden tan...we are just a little tan with a bit of blue around the edges. Seriously, it's been a weird summer. But I'm not here to rant and rave about the fact that we "live in Michigan...what do you expect?!". I'm here to give you a brief overview of our summer thus far. So here goes:

Here we are getting ready for the sweet and furry addition to our family...as you know from previous posts...his name is Carmine and we quite frankly LOVE HIM!

Here is our girl at swimming lessons. There were a lot of improvements this year.... she has pretty much always known how to swim....(aka...not drown)) but this year was about learning the many types of strokes.
She thinks she might like to be a part of the local swim club...(The Pacers).
Hmm...we'll see how committed she really is!

Here is my sister Becky and me (grammar?) at Cedar Point. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this place of wonderland.... it is a roller coaster park... home of The Maverick and The Raptor. (I hope I spelled those correctly!) We decided (kind of impromptu) to meet there one morning and ride coasters all day.... then kiss goodbye and drive to our respective homes. It was pretty dicey on the way home...I had to pull over and take a cat nap for about 10 minutes one time. I must say a big shout out to our dad who called us each a couple of times to help keep us awake!!

OOPS! How did this one get in here? This was taken MANY summers ago! This is my BFF Tee from WAY back in the day and my little brother Jason and his friend Kyle! We are kinda cute though aren't we? 4 Country bumpkins from Middleton Idaho....looking for something to do...so we posed for the camera! Not a lot has changed has it?
Anyway....back to Summer 2009

The Farmers Market.... need I say more? Every Thursday morning, we get up and head over to Island Park for fresh fruit, veggies, flowers.... and..... KETTLE CORN! I know that it doesn't really go along with the idea of "fresh fruit and veggies"... but please forgive us just this once.... for it's addicting and we can't help ourselves!

Last week we drove to Kentucky to visit Sue and Peggy. We timed it just right so that we would be able to visit with my little bro Erik. In this picture is the real royalty of the house...
I would like to introduce you to King Oscar and Queen Max. Seriously, they are sweet.
But we kinda added a little glitch to the plan by bringing Prince Carmine along for the ride.... He was welcomed by the King and Queen....but was very welcome to leave as well.

Thank you King and Queen for allowing us to visit.

There have been many other "happenings" of our summer and many "future happenings" that will occur.... like should I go to my 20th High School reunion or not? or will we or won't we sell our condo? or should we home-school Isabel or not? Who knows what the rest of August will bring? I hope you all are enjoying a great summer!
PS: I was just kidding about that "homeschooling" stuff.... it just sounded funny to add in... hoping to get a few "gasps" from the audience!
